Role & responsibilities

- Coding experience in CICS/VSAM and/or IMS/DB2, COBOL II, Easytrieve, JCL, MVS operating system, Expeditor, Endeavor and/or Changeman source managers.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
- Superior problem solving capabilities and communication skills (verbal and written) are required.
- Responsible for JCL, programming, testing, conversion monitoring and verification.
- Developed and enhanced Front End support methodology for Business Analysts
- Designs develop, installs, tests, and documents complex applications software at client product installations. Contributes to the design and delivery of technical architecture solution components.
- Experience working with software design, software development life cycle, and development methodologies and implementation
- Experience in Hogan Core Banking Applications
- Positive knowledge on below Hogan concepts: Hogan Umbrella, PEM, CDMF, Librarian, Logical Environments, Hogan Abend Identification and fixing both online & batch.
- Mainframe Skills- COBOL, VSAM & JCL
- Mainframe Tools- Easytrieve, SORT Utilities, ICTOOL

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
- Hands on experience with CICS (recent experience preferred) of at least 2+ years
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of mainframe programs.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration and deployment.
- Handle end-to-end project execution independently, including planning, development, and delivery.

- Mainframe Technologies: COBOL, COBOL-DB2, JCL, VSAM, CICS (including screen development)
- Database Expertise: DB2 (queries, optimization, maintenance), SQL
- Batch & Online Processing: High-volume workflows, queue-based processing
- Tools & Utilities: TSO/ISPF, File-AID, SPUFI, IBM Utilities
- Performance & Debugging: Impact analysis, root cause analysis, production support
