Position Overview

- Job Title: Analyst / Associate
- Department: Business Services Operations (BSO) Custody - Corporate Action and Income
- Business Line: Global and Local Custody - Corporate Actions & Income
- Location: Chennai, India
- Shift Requirements: Must be flexible to work in any shift supporting Asia, Americas, or European business hours.
- Role Purpose: The role focuses on operational efficiency and accuracy within the Custody teams. Key objectives include sourcing event announcements, calculating client eligibility, generating entitlements, processing instructions for optional/voluntary events, and managing the collection and distribution of cash/stock entitlements to clients.

Job Responsibilities

- Operational Execution:
- Set up financial information in the Custody system and cross-check data against multiple sources.
- Coordinate with local sub-custodians to clarify and resolve open issues.
- Analyze corporate events to anticipate and mitigate reporting or processing risks.
- Perform securities reconciliation with sub-custodian client positions at various event stages.

- Event Management (Voluntary Events):

- Verify eligible positions within the local sub-custodian.
- Ensure all eligible positions are instructed by the response deadline.
- Consolidate client instructions and advise local markets by sending participation instructions to sub-custodians.
- Verify that instructions have been duly acknowledged by the sub-custodian.

- Settlement & Recovery:

- Track payment dates to advise clients accurately.
- Process payments to client accounts upon recovery of cash/securities.
- Execute foreign exchange orders based on client setups.




- Perform manual adjustments for cash/securities to finalize recovery and justify breaks to Control Teams.

- Continuous Improvement & Compliance:

- Participate in brainstorming sessions to share best practices.
- Regularly update documented procedures to ensure accuracy and currency.
- Adhere strictly to Business Contingency Plan (BCP) protocols.

- Stakeholder Management:

- Establish communication links with clients to discuss daily operational performance.
- Assist the Team Manager in daily activity management and other ad-hoc duties.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience (Must Have)

- Education: Graduate degree (B.Com or similar).
- Experience: 0 to 6 years of experience in a financial organization.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Mandatory knowledge of Corporate Actions.
- Hands-on knowledge of Swift MT56X messages, ISO 15022, and ISO 20022.

- Behavioral Skills:

- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience (Nice to Have)

- Education: Post-graduation (MBA Finance preferred).
- Experience: Prior experience specifically within Custody-related activities.
- Competencies:
