Reporting To: Head of Department (Languages) / Academic Coordinator / Principal Key Responsibilities
1. Academic & Curriculum DeliverySyllabus Planning: Design and execute detailed monthly, weekly, and daily lesson plans for Hindi/Telugu according to the CBSE curriculum guidelines and NCERT objectives.Foundational Language Skills: Focus heavily on strengthening the four pillars of language acquisition for transitioning middle-schoolers: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LSRW).Experiential Learning: Shift away from purely theoretical teaching. Integrate interactive tools, storytelling, puppetry, role-plays, and audio-visual modules to make regional/national language learning engaging. Grammar & Literature: Introduce formal grammar rules (Vyakaran/Vyakaranam), comprehension, prose, and poetry appreciation appropriate for 10 to 12-year-olds.
2. Classroom Management & Digital IntegrationSmart Classroom Utilization: Leverage tech-enabled digital classrooms and smartboards to present multimedia lessons, digital quizzes, and language apps. Inclusive Environment: Manage a classroom workplace that supports the schools 100% student participation policy.
Ensure that both native and non-native speakers of the language feel supported. Individual Attention: Maintain a balanced approach to address different learning paces within the school's optimal student-teacher framework.
3. Assessment & EvaluationContinuous Evaluation: Conduct regular formative and summative assessments (Pen-and-paper tests, oral presentations, dictations, and creative writing projects) as per CBSE patterns.Actionable Feedback: Maintain meticulous records of student performance and provide constructive feedback to help them improve vocabulary, handwriting, and spellings.Remedial Support: Identify low-achievers or students struggling with language scripts (especially non-local students studying Telugu/Hindi as a 2nd/3rd language) and provide remedial guidance.
4. Co-curricular & Event ManagementLanguage Weeks: Actively organize and celebrate national/regional events such as Hindi Diwas, Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam, or literary weeks.Inter-House Competitions: Train, mentor, and judge students for creative writing, handwriting, debate, and recitation competitions (e.g., Varnalepana art-literary themes, storytelling).
5. Parent-Teacher & Stakeholder CollaborationPTMs: Participate proactively in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to share detailed linguistic updates, behavioral growth, and actionable tips for home learning.System Collaboration: Coordinate closely with the parent branch (DPS Nadergul) and internal department heads to align teaching standards and question paper blue-prints.
