- Administer and monitor NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB in day-to-day operations.
- Perform backup, restore, and basic disaster recovery operations.
- Review and optimise basic queries and collection/table designs for performance.
- Track database metrics (CPU, memory, disk I/O) and escalate anomalies to the DBA team.
- Manage user access, role assignments, and basic security configurations.
- Write automation scripts in Python or Bash for routine maintenance tasks.
- Maintain documentation for database schemas, configurations, and operational runbooks.
- Execute data migration activities and testing of schema changes in non-production environments.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Information Technology.
- Basic knowledge of at least one NoSQL database: MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, or DynamoDB.
- Understanding of database fundamentals CRUD operations, indexing, and basic data modelling.
- Familiarity with SQL and the ability to distinguish relational vs. non-relational use cases.
- Basic scripting ability in Python or Bash for automation.
- Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments via command line.
- Solid attention to detail and willingness to learn database operations in a production context.
