Project Finance Asst Manager is responsible for managing the financial planning, budgeting, funding, monitoring, and reporting of projects. The role ensures financial viability, compliance with statutory and organizational requirements, effective cash flow management and timely financial reporting to support successful project execution.

Role & responsibilities

- Develop and manage financial baselines, forecasts and budgets for drug development, clinical trials and manufacturing launch projects.
- Oversee capital allocation and resource tracking to ensure fiscal viability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, including Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost-to-complete (CTC) projections.
- Track project expenditures against established milestones, analyze cost variances, and identify areas for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Liaise between finance, R&D;, clinical operations, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing teams to align scientific tactics with financial targets.
- Provide transparent,



executive-level financial reporting to senior management and external partners.
- Proactively identify financial and operational risks.
- Ensure all project financial documentation meets industry quality standards, including GCP, GMP, and global regulatory frameworks

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Budget Adherence: Percentage of projects completed within the initially approved financial baseline.

a. Forecast Accuracy: Variance between monthly/quarterly financial projections and actual expenditures.

b. Resource Utilization: Optimal allocation of funds across various pipelines (e.g., Phase I, Phase II, Phase III trials

Preferred candidate profile

1. Education: B.Com / M.Com (Finance), MBA or Life Sciences.

2. Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Qualified) are highly preferred.

3. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial forecasting tools, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and project management applications (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
