Backend Engineer

Experience: 6 - 11 Years
Location: Bangalore

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to build and scale high-performance backend systems and data infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in backend development, distributed systems, search technologies, and cloud-based applications.

Job Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
- Build and monitor infrastructure supporting data-intensive applications.
- Collaborate with data scientists, frontend engineers, and product teams to deliver robust solutions.
- Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency backend systems.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Follow software engineering best practices, write clean, maintainable code, and ensure high unit test coverage.
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve system performance and developer productivity.

Required Skills:

- 6 - 11 years of backend development experience.
- Robust programming skills in Java, Scala, or Python.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs and Microservices.




- Strong knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
- Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Vector Embeddings, and large-scale search systems.
- Experience building high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of performance tuning, caching, load balancing, rate limiting, and scalability.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux, Shell Scripting, and Jenkins.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and software development best practices.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with FastAPI or Pylons framework.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, or Celery.
- Hands-on experience designing systems that support millions of requests and large-scale datasets.
- Experience using AI Coding Assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, etc.) to improve engineering productivity.
- Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, and Redshift.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
