Job Title: QC Chemist

Qualifications

- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Industrial Chemistry.

Experience

- 1-5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing QC laboratory.
- Experience in Pharmaceutical /Chemical Industry manufacturing is preferred.
- Salary: 3-4 LPA.

Job Summary
The QC Chemist is responsible for testing raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products of Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) and Poly Anionic Cellulose (PAC). The role ensures products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate laboratory documentation.
Key Responsibilities

- Perform quality testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Analyze CMC/PAC for viscosity, moisture, pH, purity, degree of substitution (DS), particle size, sodium glycolate, sodium chloride, assay, and other applicable parameters.
- Conduct physical and chemical testing as per approved specifications and test methods.
- Prepare reagents, standard solutions, and calibration standards.




- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments such as Brookfield Viscometer, pH Meter, Moisture Analyzer, Oven, Muffle Furnace, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, and Analytical Balance.
- Maintain laboratory records, logbooks, Certificates of Analysis (COA), and test reports.
- Follow SOPs, GLP, GMP, ISO 9001, and laboratory safety procedures.
- Investigate Out-of-Specification (OOS) and Out-of-Trend (OOT) results with the QC Head.
- Support internal, customer, and certification audits.
- Coordinate with Production and QA for batch release and quality improvements.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and protected handling of laboratory chemicals.
- Experience in cellulose derivatives, specialty chemicals, or polymer manufacturing is preferred.

Skills

- Strong analytical and laboratory skills.
- Knowledge of chemical testing methods.
- Good documentation practices (GDP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication and teamwork.
