JOB Purpose

The MERN Stack Lead is responsible to drive end-to-end development of scalable web applications, manage a team of developers, and contribute to architectural decisions. The role demands hands-on coding expertise, leadership experience, and strong communication skills.

Role and Responsibilities / KRAs

1. Technical Leadership & Architecture – 30%

KPIs / Measurement Criteria:

Architecture, design, and delivery of 100% assigned applications/modules using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, MySQL, Node.js

Zero critical architectural gaps in design reviews and audits

95% compliance to defined technical standards, coding guidelines, and architectural principles

Application performance benchmarks met:

o Page/API response time within agreed SLAs

o Zero high-severity security vulnerabilities in production

100% technical designs reviewed and approved before development start

2. Development & Delivery Excellence – 25%

KPIs / Measurement Criteria:

Hands-on contribution to 100% critical modules and complex problem resolutions

95% sprint commitment achievement (planned vs delivered story points)

Accurate effort estimation with 10% variance

100% adherence to SDLC, Agile/Scrum ceremonies, and release processes

Successful integration of REST APIs and third-party services with zero major production failures

3. Team Management & Mentoring – 20%

KPIs / Measurement Criteria:

Lead and mentor 100% assigned MERN developers with transparent task ownership

Conduct regular code reviews (90% coverage) focusing on quality, security, and performance

Reduction in rework/defect density by 20% quarter-on-quarter

Team skill uplift through knowledge sharing sessions, peer reviews,



or training initiatives

Maintain high team engagement and accountability with minimal escalations

4. Client & Stakeholder Collaboration – 15%

KPIs / Measurement Criteria:

Translate 100% approved business requirements into effective technical solutions

Provide timely status updates, risk assessments, and technical guidance to stakeholders

Client satisfaction score 4.5/5 or equivalent feedback

Zero unresolved technical escalations beyond defined SLA timelines

Effective collaboration with UI/UX, QA, DevOps, and Product teams across all projects

5. Cloud, DevOps & Engineering Best Practices – 10%

KPIs / Measurement Criteria:

Successful deployment and management of applications on AWS / Azure / GCP

100% adherence to CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and release standards

Support containerization and deployments using Docker/Kubernetes (where applicable)

Improve deployment reliability with 99% successful release rate

Enable automation, monitoring, and rollback readiness in production environments

6. Organization Initiatives – 5%

KPIs / Measurement Criteria:

Active participation in minimum 2–3 organization initiatives annually

Acts as the front face of the function in initiatives, reviews, or forums

Demonstrates tangible value addition through leadership, execution,



or innovation

7. Personal Development & Leadership Visibility – 5%

KPIs / Measurement Criteria:

100% completion of personal development goals agreed with reporting manager

Participation in key technical, cross-functional, or leadership discussions

Proactive support to India HR Leader / leadership team in driving people, culture, and organizational vision

Job Impact

- The MERN Stack Lead plays a critical role in strengthening the organization’s technical capabilities by delivering scalable solutions, improving development standards, mentoring teams, and ensuring high client satisfaction through quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

- B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA in Computer Science or related field.
- 6–10 years of professional experience in software development
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with React.js, Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and architecture design.
- Familiarity with AWS / Azure / Docker / Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of TypeScript, Next.js, GraphQL is an added advantage.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Cypress.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- High ownership, quality focus, and delivery-driven mindset.
