Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Assistant General Manager – Production to lead and optimize production operations in our interior manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in modular furniture or interior fit-out manufacturing, a hands-on approach to shop floor management, and the ability to streamline processes for efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end production operations across all factory functions including carpentry, machine shop, assembly, and dispatch.

Oversee daily production planning, workflow optimization, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines.

Implement lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste, control costs, and improve productivity.

Coordinate with design, procurement, warehouse, and installation teams for seamless execution.

Ensure compliance with quality standards and drive continuous improvements in product finish, fitting accuracy, and material usage.

Monitor machine maintenance, downtime, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).





Train and supervise production supervisors, line managers, and skilled/unskilled workers.

Analyze production data and generate reports for management review.

Implement and enforce safety protocols, 5S, and workplace discipline on the shop floor.

Support current process introductions, technology upgrades, and factory expansion initiatives.

Ensure timely material availability and coordinate with procurement to avoid delays or shortages.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

15+ years of experience in production roles, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/AGM role in the interior or modular furniture industry.

Strong technical knowledge of modular furniture manufacturing, machinery (CNC, edge banding, panel saw, etc.), and fit-out materials.

Proficient in production planning tools, ERP systems, and Excel reporting.

Excellent leadership, decision-making, and team management skills.

Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet aggressive deadlines.

Strong understanding of quality control, cost management, and factory KPIs.Role & responsibilities
