In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the development and ongoing support of our mission-critical Front Arena platform. As a key member of the technology team, you will enhance its functionality and customise the environment to meet evolving business requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including traders, quantitative analysts, risk managers, and middle office colleagues—to drive the design, development, and deployment of new features and system enhancements. With a commitment to the highest standards of quality and reliability, you will help ensure continuous system availability, optimal performance, and seamless integration with critical upstream and downstream systems such as our market data platform, pricing engines, and back-office applications.
We are seeking a senior Front Arena developer with proven technical expertise in ACM, ADFL, Python, and SQL, along with hands-on experience in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and production support of Front Arena environments. Solid problem-solving abilities, rigorous attention to quality, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision are essential to thrive in this dynamic and high-performing team.
The role is based at client location - Mumbai.
Core Responsibilities
1. Serve as a key member of the GPS Agile Release Train; actively participate in Program Increment (PI) planning and regular agile ceremonies within a global setup
2. Customize and enhance the Front Arena environment to develop new business features, and ensure seamless integration
3. Design, build, test, and deploy new functionalities and services to strengthen our trading ecosystem
4. Supervise and ensure business-critical services and features are available and functioning correctly in production, with strong emphasis on high availability and minimal downtime
5. Schedule End-of-Day (EOD) processes and oversee their timely and accurate completion
6. Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting assistance to Global GPS Application Support teams and the global user base (Level 2 and 3)
7. Participate in on-call duties for production support, ensuring rapid and effective resolution of issues to minimize impact on business operations
Change Management
1. Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security requirements
2. Proactively drive continuous platform improvement by identifying optimization opportunities and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk
3. Support change management processes and contribute to release rollout planning
Regulatory Responsibilities & Risk Management
1. Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviors, including but not limited to standards of honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, sound risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Professional and Technical
1.
8+ years must have hands-on experience in managing and developing the Front Arena environment (ADFL/AEL/ACM)
2. Required knowledge of capital markets and trading, particularly in structured products and equity derivatives.
3. In-depth understanding of the lifecycle management of financial products (e.g. Cash Flows, Corporate Actions, Expiries)
4. Experience in software engineering and system administration, with a focus on latest versions of Front Arena Prime
5. Demonstrated experience with Front Arena components, data- and workflows
6. Proficiency in scripting languages (Python), solid understanding of databases, SQL queries, database technologies (MS-SQL), and Microsoft Windows operating system.
7. Familiarity with messaging systems (e.g. MQ, Kafka) and task automation is advantageous
8. Experience working with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket, Git, etc.)
Personal and Social
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, or a related field
- Outstanding programming and financial engineering qualification
