Role Description

Medway Educational Consultants is seeking a Study Abroad Counselor for a full-time, on-site position based in New Delhi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding students through their international education journey by understanding their academic profile, career aspirations, and personal goals.

The counselor will conduct one-on-one counseling sessions, provide accurate guidance on overseas study options, assist students in selecting suitable courses and institutions, and support them throughout the application and admission process.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct personalized counseling sessions with students and parents to understand their academic background, interests, career objectives, and study abroad aspirations.
- Provide guidance on suitable countries, universities, courses, admission requirements,



and career opportunities.
- Assist students with application processes, documentation requirements, deadlines, and admission procedures.
- Conduct information sessions, seminars, and workshops related to overseas education opportunities.
- Maintain regular communication with students and families throughout the counseling and application journey.
- Track student progress, maintain accurate counseling records, and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Address student concerns related to academic decisions, career planning, and adjustment to international education environments.
- Stay updated with changes in international education systems, university admission criteria, visa requirements, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth and effective student experience.
- Maintain ethical counseling practices by providing transparent and student-focused advice.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree
- Strong understanding of New Zealand education systems, university admissions, and study abroad processes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with students and parents.
- Ability to assess student profiles and recommend suitable academic pathways.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple student cases effectively.
- High level of cultural awareness, empathy, and professionalism when working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow ethical counseling practices.
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail and accurate documentation management.

Preferred Experience

- Previous experience of student counselling in New Zealand and Australia.
- Knowledge of admission processes, visa requirements, and international student recruitment.
- Experience conducting student counseling sessions, education fairs, or university information events.
