Job DescriptionSummaryAs aLead Cyber Security Engineer at GE Vernova Grid Solutions, you willplay a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing thecybersecurity requirement for EHV/HV substations(AIS/GIS/HVDC/FACTS/STATCOM/Onshore/Offshore/Renewable/etc.,)considering the safety/quality/Cost/time delivery criteria.In this role, you will be reporting directly toproject and designated line manager, while as well indirectlyreporting technically to the OT Engineering Cybersecurity Leader.The successful candidate will be part of a highly motivated anddynamic team of engineers working on the development of renewablesproject worldwide. The development of such projects is technicallychallenging and involves a variety of engineering disciplines,contribution through teamwork and an innovativeapproach.This position will provide thecandidate an ideal opportunity to develop the problem solving andcommunication skills in a global environment and build up a networkwithin the OT cybersecurity / engineering community. The positionwill be guided by qualified practices and policies that areshaped by the role as per requirement.JobDescriptionRolesandResponsibilitiesConductrisk assessments and vulnerability assessments for operationaltechnology systems to identify security weaknesses and potentialthreats.Design and implement security controlsand measures to protect OT systems from cyber threats, includingintrusion detection systems, firewalls, access controls, andnetwork segmentation.Collaborate withcross-functional teams, including OT engineers, IT professionals,and management, to ensure cybersecurity considerations areintegrated into the design, deployment,



and maintenance of OTsystems.Stay updated on emerging threats,vulnerabilities, and industry best practices related to OTcybersecurity and make recommendations for securityenhancements.Conduct penetration testing andvulnerability assessments on OT systems to identify and remediatesecurity weaknesses.Provide technicalexpertise and guidance to internal teams regarding OT securitystandards, policies, andprocedures.Collaborate with third-partyvendors and suppliers to ensure the security of OT systems andevaluate their cybersecuritycapabilities.Conduct security training andawareness programs for OT operators and other personnel involved inOT operations.Thecandidate must be: Self-motivating,proactive and results driven approach.Curious,resilient, and willing to learn.Able to workto deadlines with high quality, sense of urgency anddelivery.Focused on delivering value tocustomers.Strong problem-solving and rootcause identification skills.Flexibility inworking hours.Ability to work on high pressureenvironment.RequiredQualificationsUniversityDegree qualified in an engineering discipline ideally with CyberSecurity Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, orComputer and Electronics engineering.Minimum5-6 years’ experience in project security,



preferably in anOperational Technology (OT)environment.Minimum 5-6 years' experiencewithin the Electrical Industry or in a similarrole.Solid understanding of industrial controlsystems (ICS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)systems, and other OT technologies.Knowledgeof OT-specific protocols and standards such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC61850, and OPC.Experience in designing andimplementing security controls for OT systems, including firewalls,intrusion detection systems, and accesscontrols.Familiarity with network segmentationtechniques and security architectures for OTsystems.Experience in Industrial communicationnetwork and system security IEC 62443standards.Knowledge of NIST Cyber securityframework.Good knowledge of Cyber securityprinciples, theories, and techniques.Cybersecurity certification in IEC 62443 (min 1 or2)DesiredCharacteristics:Pro-activeness,sense of urgency, resistance to pressure, autonomy ability tointeract with multiple functions and teamsworldwide.Acceptable level of English speakingand writing preferred.Strong oral and writtencommunicationskills.KeyCompetencesTechnicalExpertise: In-depth understanding of cyber security OT Environmentfor Electrical Substations.Project Management:Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meetdeadlines.Communication: Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills for effective customer and teaminteractions.Leadership: Strong leadership andteam coordination abilities to guide and mentor juniorengineers.Problem-Solving: Proficient inidentifying issues and implementing effectivesolutions.Quality Focus: Commitmentto maintaining high standards of quality andcompliance.AdditionalInformationRelocation Assistance Provided:Yes
