About the RoleWe arelooking for a Senior Batch Scheduling Engineerto lead the design, configuration, and continuous improvement ofour enterprise batch scheduling landscape, primarily built onRedwood RunMyJobs (RMJ). The role is thetechnical reference point for scheduling across SAP and non-SAPplatforms, ensuring that thousands of business-critical jobs runreliably, securely, and on time.You will ownscheduling standards, drive automation of complex workflows, andexplore how emerging technologies - including AI - can enhance theway we design, operate, and optimize batchprocesses.KeyResponsibilitiesOwn theend-to-end lifecycle of batch jobs in RedwoodRunMyJobs: design, configuration, deployment, monitoring,optimization, and retirement.Define andenforce scheduling standards, naming conventions, andgovernance across SAP (S/4HANA, ECC, BW, SolutionManager) and non-SAP platforms (databases, file transfers, customapplications).Design and maintaincomplex workflows and job chains: event-drivenscheduling, dynamic dependencies, parameterized templates,conditional logic, and cross-systemorchestration.Explore and prototype the use ofAI and modern automation techniques to enhancescheduling - for example, intelligent failure analysis, automatedremediation workflows, or AI-assisted job design anddocumentation.Act as L3 escalationpoint for complex scheduling incidents, performroot-cause analysis, and define preventivemeasures.Collaborate with SAP Basis,Application Owners, and Business stakeholders onlandscape changes, release cycles, and business calendars(month-end, year-end, fiscal close).Mentorjunior engineers, review configurations, and ensure knowledgetransfer across the team.Support audit,compliance, and security requirements (SOX, segregation of duties,role-based access inRMJ).Required Skills &Experience5;+years of hands-on experience with enterprise batchscheduling tools, including with RedwoodRunMyJobs (or equivalent: SAP CPS by Redwood, Control-M,Tivoli Workload Scheduler,



AutoSys).Strongknowledge of SAP batch architecture: SM36/SM37,background work processes, RFC connections, event-driven jobs, BWprocess chains, Solution Manager jobdocumentation.Experience schedulingnon-SAP workloads: database jobs (Oracle, SQLServer, HANA), file-based triggers, secure file transfer(SFTP/MFT), custom application workflows.Solidautomation and scripting skills: Python, Bash,PowerShell, Java, applied to building, maintaining, and optimizingscheduling workflows.Understanding ofworkflow design principles: dependencies, errorhandling, retries, parameterization,reusability.Strong troubleshootingskills, log analysis, and performance tuning of batchenvironments.Excellent communication skills inEnglish (written and spoken); additionallanguages are a plus.Niceto HaveRedwood RunMyJobscertification or formaltraining.Curiosity for AI and modernautomation: practical interest or hands-on experienceusing AI tools (LLMs, copilots, agents) to design workflows,generate scheduling artifacts, analyze logs, or automate routinescheduling tasks.Experience with SAPS/4HANA migrations and Redwood as the strategicreplacement for legacy SAP schedulers.Exposureto cloud-based scheduling scenarios (Azure, AWS,GCP) and hybrid landscapes.Experience leadingor mentoring small technicalteams.At Tech Data, a TD SYNNEXCompany, our values guide everything we do: Together, We Own It, WeDare to Go, We Grow and Win, and above all, We Do the Right Thing.These principles shape how we work with each other, our partners,and our communities as we drive innovation and create lastingimpact.What's In It ForYou?ElectiveBenefits:
