Team Lead / Manager — Credit & Settlement Risk

Experience: 10–15 years | Level: Team Lead / Manager

Location: Bangalore, Hyderabad or Gurugram

Role Summary

The Team Lead/Manager owns delivery quality, SLA performance, and client relationship management for the credit and settlement risk engagement — leading a team of Analysts and Senior Analysts, governing methodology consistency, and driving productivity and AI-enablement initiatives in partnership with the client.

Key Responsibilities

● Lead a team of credit analysts delivering annual and quarterly review cycles across the Europe, US portfolios; own work allocation, capacity planning, and turnaround SLAs.

● Serve as final quality gate on credit reports and risk-rating recommendations before submission to client credit officers; ensure methodology consistency (CAMELS for FIs; corporate credit frameworks for non-FIs).

● Own the client relationship at the operational level: run governance cadences, report on SLA/quality metrics, manage escalations, and translate client feedback into process change.

● Maintain and evolve the engagement's methodology playbooks — spreading standards, ratio definitions, covenant-testing protocols, country-risk overlays, and report templates.

● Drive adoption of AI-enabled workflows (automated report drafting, performance-driver extraction, early-warning/news monitoring) including UAT coordination, prompt/output quality feedback loops, and human-in-the-loop review design.

● Partner with the client on framework enhancements — e.g., collateral solutions for clients (pre-funding structures), hybrid risk frameworks for fintech sponsors,

and portfolio monitoring systems with ML-based early-warning alerts.

● Manage hiring, onboarding, training, and performance development for the team; build bench strength and succession coverage across time zones.

● Contribute to account growth: identify adjacent opportunities (stress testing support, exposure analytics, collateral analytics), support proposals, and represent delivery capability in client discussions.

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/economics; MBA (Finance), CA, CFA Charterholder, or FRM.

● 10–15 years in credit risk / counterparty risk / credit research, including 3+ years leading credit analysis teams in a banking, payments, KPO, or consulting delivery environment.

● Deep command of FI credit analysis (CAMELS, Basel III metrics) and corporate credit analysis; ability to arbitrate contested rating recommendations.

● Experience managing SLA-driven delivery for global financial services clients, including quality frameworks, productivity metrics, and governance reporting.

● Familiarity with payments-network risk concepts — settlement risk, collateral management, exposure measurement — strongly preferred.

● Demonstrated experience driving automation or AI adoption in credit/research operations is a significant advantage.

● Robust executive communication skills; experience as primary operational point of contact for US/European clients.

● Flexibility to overlap with European and Americas time zones. practices — AI-driven credit reviews, ML-based portfolio monitoring, and emerging

settlement innovations.
