We work to international design standards and regulations, ensuring our contributions meet the highest benchmarks of quality and innovation.At GDSC, you’ll be empowered to collaborate across borders, grow your expertise, and make a meaningful impact on infrastructure and development projects that shape communities worldwide.Role PurposeThe Document Controller will provide comprehensive document control support to the major global projects, ensuring that all project documentation is accurately processed, controlled, quality-checked and issued in line with global standards, client requirements, and project procedures.
The role is critical in maintaining document integrity, compliance, and effective communication between project teams.Key Responsibilities & DutiesDocument Control OperationsIssue project documents to partners/team via ProjectWise in accordance with agreed workflows, naming conventions, and distribution matricesProcess incoming and outgoing documentation ensuring correct status, revision, and approvals are appliedAssist project teams with updating documents to WIP (Work in Progress) status when requiredQuality Assurance & CompliancePerform detailed QA checks on all project deliverables, ensuring alignment with:o Project document formatting guideso Project standards, templates, and metadata requirementsEnsure documents meet contractual, procedural, and audit requirements before issueComments & Review ManagementProcess team comments within ProjectWise accurately and efficientlyDistribute comments to appropriate teams and track responses through to closureMaintain clear version control during review cycles to prevent superseded or incorrect information being issuedCommunication & CoordinationAct as a point of contact for document control queries between external & internal project teamsSupport effective communication by ensuring that relevant stakeholders receive accurate and timely documentationRecords & ReportingMaintain accurate document registers and issue logsSupport audits and reporting requirements by providing document status updates and evidence when requiredSkills & ExperienceEssential:Bachelor’s degree in any non engineering related field Previous experience in a Document Control role on large infrastructure or construction projectsStrong working knowledge of ProjectWiseExperience working with EDMS platforms and document workflowsHigh attention to detail and strong organisational skillsDesirable:Experience in major global infrastructure projectsFamiliarity working with multiple teams and EDMS workflowsUnderstanding of document lifecycle management and QA processesPersonal AttributesMethodical and detail-orientedAble to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlinesStrong communication skills and a collaborative approachProactive and solution-focusedSystems & Software UsedProjectWise Primary Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)Business Collaborator (BC)Microsoft OutlookMicrosoft Office SuiteFlexible workingAt Mott MacDonald, we support our staff to create work-life balance which works for them and welcome candidates looking for career flexibility.
