He/She proceeds to the thermal and mechanical design of HRSG’s (Heat Recovery Steam Generators) for the proposals department and executes the detailed engineering during project execution from the award of an order to the provisional acceptance of the equipment. The Design Engineer is particularly responsible to ensure that the design of the product is compliant to the calculation request, to applicable codes and norms, to the contractual technical specifications and to internal standards as defined in the Design Process according to the QMS (quality management system) of the Energy Sector.ObjectivesThe Design Engineer is responsible for the sizing and the detailed design of products for proposals and project execution under the hierarchical responsibility of the Design Manager and the functional responsibility of the Technical Project Manager with the following objectives:Customer satisfaction,Conformance to applicable codes and norms, contractual scope of supply, Customer’s technical specifications, internal standards and local regulations,Quality,



conformity and completeness of the technical documentation,Respect of document delivery schedules,Optimization of the design,Control of internal and external interfaces.ResponsibilitiesThe duties of the Design Engineer are amongst others:Application of the Design Process,Sizing of products for the proposals of the Energy Sector of John Cockerill,Detailed design of products during project execution,Optimization of the design,Conformity of the technical documentation to applicable codes and norms,Respect of Customer specifications and requirements,Technical risks assessments,Application of internal standards and good practices,Delivery of the technical documentation to the Project Team according to the project schedule and within the specified budget.CompetenciesThe Design Engineer has a specialist profile.
