Location: Mohali / Gurugram (as per business requirement) Department: HSE ( Health, Safety & Enviornment) Position Summar yWe are seeking an experienced Head – Safet y to lead and strengthen the organization's Health, Safety & Workplace (HSE) function across all EPC business verticals, including Power Systems, Renewables, Transmission & Distribution, and Manufacturing.
The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing world-class safety systems, ensuring statutory compliance, fostering a proactive safety culture, and driving the organization's goal of achieving zero harm across all project sites .
Key Responsibilitie sDevelop and implement the corporate HSE strategy across all EPC projects .
Ensure compliance with national and international safety standards, including statutory regulations .
Establish and monitor HSE policies, procedures, SOPs, and emergency response plans .
Lead safety management for utility-scale solar projects, substations (up to 765 kV), transmission lines, and industrial electrical projects .
Drive implementation of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems .
Conduct regular site safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews .
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions .
Develop leading and lagging safety KPIs and present safety performance to senior leadership .
Build a strong safety culture through awareness programs, behavioral safety initiatives,
and leadership engagement .
Ensure compliance with client HSE requirements and project-specific safety plans .
Manage safety teams across multiple project locations and mentor regional HSE managers .
Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to integrate safety into project execution .
Oversee contractor safety management, including audits, onboarding, and performance evaluation .
Liaise with regulatory authorities, consultants, and client representatives on HSE matters .
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance organizational safety performance .
Required Qualification sBachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil) or equivalent .
Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute .NEBOSH IGC or equivalent international certification preferred .
Lead Auditor certification for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 is desirable .
Experienc e18–25 year s of overall experience in Health, Safety & Environment .
Minimum 10 year s in a leadership role within the EPC industr y .
Proven experience in: Utility-scale Solar EPC project sEHV/HV Substations (AIS/GIS )Transmission Line project sElectrical infrastructure project sIndustrial construction project sExperience managing safety across multiple project sites simultaneously .
Exposure to projects executed for utilities, government, and private sector clients .
