Role & responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

- Supervise daily Wine Library operations to ensure seamless and personalized guest experiences.
- Welcome and engage guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
- Recommend wines, food pairings, tasting flights, and curated wine experiences based on guest preferences.
- Ensure all wine services follow international standards of etiquette, presentation, and professionalism.
- Handle guest requests, feedback, and service recovery promptly while maintaining luxury service standards.
- Recognize VIP, HNI, and UHNI guests and coordinate personalized wine experiences whenever required.
- Support the Head Sommelier in creating memorable guest journeys through wine appreciation and storytelling.

Wine Service & Beverage Excellence

- Supervise professional wine service including bottle presentation, opening, decanting, aeration, and serving.
- Ensure wines are served using appropriate glassware and at optimal serving temperatures.
- Monitor consistency of wine presentation, service etiquette, and guest interaction.
- Assist in conducting wine tastings, wine flights, pairing dinners, masterclasses, and promotional events.
- Ensure all wine service follows procedures established by the Wine Master and Head Sommelier.

Wine Knowledge & Product Excellence

- Maintain extensive knowledge of international wine regions, grape varieties, producers, vintages, classifications, and wine styles.
- Stay updated on new wine arrivals, premium collections, rare vintages, and industry trends.
- Educate guests confidently on wine selections, tasting notes, food pairings, and production methods.
- Promote premium wines and assist in responsible upselling while enhancing the guest experience.




- Support the Head Sommelier in developing wine lists and seasonal wine recommendations.

Cellar Operations & Inventory Management

- Oversee daily cellar operations including receiving, inspection, labeling, storage, and stock rotation.
- Maintain proper storage conditions including temperature, humidity, lighting, and security.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement requirements with approved suppliers.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile stock discrepancies.
- Ensure FIFO principles, vintage rotation, and proper preservation practices are followed.
- Report damaged bottles, cork failures, leakage, or inventory variances immediately.

Team Leadership & Development

- Supervise and guide Executives Wine Library in daily operations.
- Conduct on-the-job coaching on wine service, presentation standards, and cellar procedures.
- Allocate daily responsibilities and monitor completion of assigned tasks.
- Assist the Head Sommelier in staff scheduling and operational planning.
- Monitor grooming, professionalism, and adherence to departmental SOPs.
- Encourage teamwork, continuous learning, and a positive working environment.

Operations & Administrative Support

Quality Assurance

- Maintain uncompromising standards of authenticity, luxury, and wine service excellence.
- Conduct routine quality inspections of cellar conditions, bottle presentation, and wine service.




- Ensure consistency of guest experiences across all Wine Library operations.
- Monitor cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the Wine Library and tasting areas.
- Support the Head Sommelier in continuously improving operational standards and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Food & Beverage Service, or equivalent.
- Minimum 25 years of experience in wine service, luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, premium wine bars, or luxury hospitality, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently engage guests.
- Extensive knowledge of international wines, food pairing, wine service etiquette, and cellar operations.
- Good organizational, leadership, and inventory management skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

- WSET Level 1 or Level 2 Certification preferred.
- Introductory Certification (Court of Master Sommeliers or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
- Experience managing premium wine inventories and cellar operations.
- Knowledge of wine preservation systems and premium beverage equipment.
- Familiarity with luxury hospitality standards and personalized guest experiences.
