Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Database Developer with 2-3 years of experience in PostgreSQL, MySQL, and AWS Database Services to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL query development, stored procedures, functions, triggers, performance tuning, and database optimization. This role involves developing and maintaining database objects, troubleshooting database issues, monitoring database performance, and supporting data migration activities. The candidate will work closely with development teams and Senior Database Administrators to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of cloud-based database environments.

Experience with AWS services such as Aurora, RDS, CloudWatch, and Performance Insights, along with proficiency in Shell Scripting or Python, will be an added advantage. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Role & responsibilities :

- Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and database objects in PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Design and implement efficient database solutions while ensuring data integrity, consistency, and security.
- Perform SQL query tuning and database performance optimization to improve application responsiveness.
- Monitor database performance using AWS CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and database logs to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Support database administration activities, including user and role management, permissions, and database maintenance.
- Execute data migration, data validation, and database deployment activities across environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and timely resolution.




- Assist application development teams in designing optimized database schemas and writing effective SQL queries.
- Monitor database health proactively and recommend improvements to ensure high availability and system stability.
- Support replication, backup, and recovery processes for PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.
- Develop automation scripts using Shell (Bash) or Python to simplify database administration and operational tasks.
- Work with AWS Database Services such as Amazon RDS and Amazon Aurora to manage cloud-hosted databases.
- Analyze database logs, execution plans, and performance metrics to identify trends and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with Senior Database Administrators and cross-functional teams to support database operations and production releases.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Follow database security, compliance, and change management standards while implementing database changes.

Technical skills Required :

- Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and MySQL database development.
- Expertise in writing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and indexes.
- Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and execution plan analysis.
- Knowledge of AWS Database Services, including Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, CloudWatch, and Performance Insights.
- Understanding of database replication, backup, recovery, and data migration processes.
- Experience in user, role, and permission management within PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Proficiency in Shell (Bash) scripting or Python for automation and database administration tasks.
- Familiarity with database monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and performance analysis tools.
- Understanding of database security, high availability, and best practices.
