About the Role
We are seeking a proactive Chartered Accountant (qualified or semiqualified) to lead finance operations, ensure accounting accuracy, support tax research and compliance, manage client relationships, and champion AI-enabled tools across the firm. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting/tax skills with team leadership, client-facing experience, and practical knowledge of AI tools for finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Team performance and people management
- Lead, coach, and evaluate a team of accountants/AEs; set performance goals and conduct periodic reviews.
- Allocate resources, monitor workloads, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Manage leave approvals, attendance tracking, and escalate staffing issues.
- Accounting review and controls
- Review books of account, ledgers, reconciliations, and monthend / quarterend / yearend closing activities.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
- Identify and recommend process improvements and internal control enhancements.
- Taxation research and compliance
- Research complex tax issues, interpret statutes, circulars, and case law; provide actionable guidance to the team and clients.
- Oversee tax computations, filings, and timelines; coordinate with external tax advisors where required.
- Client relationship management
- Act as primary contact for assigned clients; build and maintain trust through timely communication and high-quality deliverables.
- Understand clients business needs, recommend value-added services, and manage client expectations.
- Partner representation
- Represent partners on matters of finance, compliance, and client engagements when required.
- Prepare briefs and status updates for partners and participate in partner-client discussions.
- AI adoption and oversight
- Possess requisite knowledge of AI tools applicable to accounting, tax research, document automation, and analytics.
- Lead evaluation, pilot, and implementation efforts for AI tools; ensure proper governance, data privacy, and accuracy checks.
- Train team members on effective and responsible use of AI tools.
- Reporting and documentation
- Prepare and present periodic financial and operational reports to partners and stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation of policies, procedures, tax positions, and research outputs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or semiqualified CA (CA Inter) with solid practical experience.
- 38 years of relevant experience (adjustable based on role level).
- Hands-on experience in accounting, taxation, and client servicing.
- Demonstrated team management or supervisory experience.
- Practical understanding of Indian tax laws, GST, corporate taxation; knowledge of international tax is a plus.
- Working knowledge of accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP, or similar).
- Familiarity with AI/ML tools for finance (e.g., document AI, LLMs for tax research) and comfort evaluating/implementing them.
- Strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
- High degree of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Proficient in English; local language skills an advantage.
