Role & responsibilities
The position will act as the Management Representative / Quality Management System Leader and will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System in line with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements (CSRs), and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the IATF 16949 Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable IATF 16949 clauses, customer-specific requirements, and statutory/regulatory requirements.
- Develop, review, and control quality policies, procedures, manuals, work instructions, formats, and records.
- Ensure effective implementation of the Process Approach and Risk-Based Thinking across all departments.
- Maintain the organization's process map, interaction of processes, KPIs, objectives, and quality performance indicators.
- Identify process risks and opportunities and ensure appropriate action plans.
- Ensure effective implementation of document control and record control systems.
B. Management Representative Responsibilities
- Represent the Quality Management System to Top Management, certification bodies, customers, and external agencies.
- Report QMS performance, quality objectives, customer satisfaction, audit results, risks, and improvement requirements to Top Management.
- Ensure that the processes required for the QMS are established, implemented, and maintained.
- Coordinate with all departments for effective implementation of the QMS.
- Ensure awareness of customer requirements and quality objectives throughout the organization.
- Drive continual improvement and ensure corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.
- Coordinate and facilitate Management Review Meetings (MRM) and ensure timely closure of action points.
C. Internal & External Audits
- Prepare and maintain the annual audit plan for:
- Internal System Audits
- Process Audits
- Product Audits
- Layered Process Audits (LPA)
- Lead preparation for IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer, certification, and surveillance audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit non-conformities with effective root cause analysis.
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Ensure proper management of audit findings and maintain audit records.
- Develop and train internal auditors and process auditors.
D. Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Lead the overall Quality Assurance function from incoming material to final product dispatch.
- Establish and monitor quality standards, inspection systems, control plans, and quality checkpoints.
- Ensure effective implementation of:
- APQP
- PPAP
- FMEA
- MSA
- SPC
- Control Plan
- 8D Problem Solving
- Root Cause Analysis
- CAPA
- Monitor and reduce:
- Customer complaints
- Internal rejection
- Rework
- Scrap
- Process variation
- Supplier quality issues
- Ensure proper control of non-conforming products and effective segregation and disposition.
E. Customer Quality Management
- Act as the key coordinator for customer quality requirements and complaints.
- Ensure timely response to customer complaints through structured 8D / CAPA methodology.
- Analyze customer complaints and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Monitor customer quality performance, PPM, rejection, warranty, and complaint trends.
- Ensure customer-specific requirements are properly communicated and implemented.
- Coordinate customer audits and customer visits.
F. Supplier Quality Assurance
- Monitor supplier quality performance and supplier PPM.
- Coordinate supplier audits and supplier development activities.
- Ensure supplier corrective actions are properly implemented and verified.
- Support supplier evaluation, approval, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure incoming material quality meets defined specifications.
G. Quality Performance & Continual Improvement
- Define and monitor departmental KPI/KRA related to quality performance.
- Prepare monthly and periodic quality performance reports for Top Management.
- Drive quality improvement projects and Kaizen initiatives.
- Implement defect prevention and variation reduction programs.
- Promote a culture of Quality at Source” across the organization.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction through reduction of rejection, rework, scrap, and customer complaints.
H. Training & Quality Awareness
- Develop and implement annual quality training plans.
- Conduct training on:
- IATF 16949 awareness
- Quality Policy and Objectives
- Customer-Specific Requirements
- 7 QC Tools
- 8D Problem Solving
- FMEA
- SPC
- MSA
- Control Plan
- Internal Auditing
- Root Cause Analysis
- Ensure all employees understand their role in achieving quality objectives.

4. Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Additional qualification in Quality Management / IATF 16949 / Lead Auditor will be preferred.
5. Required Experience & Skills
- 10–20 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, IATF 16949, and Automotive / Auto Component Manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Experience as Management Representative / QMS Head / Quality Head.
- Strong experience in customer audits and certification audits.
- Expertise in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plan, 8D, CAPA, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Purchase, Stores, Development, and other functions.
- Strong knowledge of customer-specific requirements and quality improvement methodologies.
6. Authority & Accountability
- Authority to stop or hold production in case of serious quality concerns.
- Authority to initiate corrective and preventive actions.
- Authority to escalate critical quality issues directly to Top Management.
- Accountability for the effectiveness and continual improvement of the Quality Management System.
- Accountability for maintaining IATF 16949 certification and ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
7. Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a strong Quality Systems and IATF professional with hands-on experience in automotive manufacturing, capable of leading the complete Quality Assurance function and driving a culture of zero-defect manufacturing, customer satisfaction, process discipline, and continual improvement.
