Workday Payroll Consultant (US & Canada)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workday Payroll AMS Consultant with robust expertise in US and Canada Payroll to support and enhance our Workday HCM ecosystem. The role involves handling post-production support (AMS), payroll configuration, issue resolution, and continuous improvements across payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities

AMS / Production Support

Provide L2/L3 support for Workday Payroll (US & Canada)

Manage incident, problem, and service request tickets within defined SLAs

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes

Coordinate with HR, Finance, IT, and third-party vendors

Payroll Functional Expertise

Support and maintain US Payroll (Federal, State, Local taxes, W-2 processing)

Manage Canada Payroll (CRA compliance, ROE, T4, provincial taxes)

Configure and troubleshoot:

o Earnings, deductions, and benefits

o Tax updates and compliance changes

o Payroll inputs, retro calculations, and off-cycle runs

Workday Configuration & Enhancements

Configure Payroll business processes, integrations, and reports

Implement Workday releases, updates, and feature adoptions

Work on payroll integrations (e.g., Benefits, Time Tracking, GL, Banking)

Reporting & Compliance





Generate payroll reports, audits, and reconciliation reports

Ensure compliance with US IRS regulations & Canadian CRA requirements

Support year-end activities (W-2, T4, ROE processing)

Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with global HR/payroll teams and clients

Communicate effectively with business users and technical teams

Provide training, documentation, and knowledge transfer

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience

3 6 years of Workday experience (based on role level)

Hands-on experience in Workday Payroll (US & Canada)

Experience in AMS/Support model (ticket-based environment)

Core Skills

Strong knowledge of:

o US Payroll (taxation, compliance, payroll cycles)

o Canada Payroll (federal & provincial requirements)

Expertise in:

o Workday Payroll configuration

o Business Process Framework (BPF)

o Calculated fields & reporting

Understanding of integrations (EIB, Studio good to have)
