Role Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Manager – Laboratory for a full-time, on-site role in Chennai. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, managing technical teams, ensuring quality compliance, and supervising molecular diagnostic workflows including NGS processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily operations of the molecular diagnostics laboratory
- Supervise and train laboratory technicians and technical staff
- Ensure accurate processing and analysis of clinical samples
- Monitor and manage workflows including:
- DNA/RNA isolation from clinical samples
- PCR and Real-Time PCR
- Gel Electrophoresis
- DNA Sequencing
- Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows
- Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety and sanitization protocols
- Maintain and review QC/QA documentation and compliance records
- Monitoring inventory levels in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and laboratory data





Experience Required

- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a molecular diagnostic laboratory
- Strong experience in handling infectious clinical samples
- Mandatory hands-on experience in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)
- Prior leadership or team management experience preferred

Qualifications

- B.Tech / M.Tech – Biotechnology / Genetic Engineering
- B.Sc / M.Sc – Biotechnology / Genetic Engineering
- B.Sc / M.Sc – Molecular Biology
- Additional certifications in laboratory management or quality systems are an advantage

Skills Required

- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong documentation and reporting abilities
- Good presentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, email, and internet applications
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
