Roles & Responsibilities – Interior Designer (Modular Kitchen & Interiors)

1. Client Interaction & Requirement Understanding

· Meet clients to understand their design requirements, lifestyle needs, space constraints, and budget.

· Provide design ideas and skilled guidance on layouts, materials, finishes, and functionality.

· Present design concepts confidently and incorporate client feedback.

2. Design & Planning

· Prepare 2D layouts, 3D views, and detailed working drawings for modular kitchens, wardrobes, and other interior furniture.

· Design efficient kitchen layouts (L-shape, U-shape, parallel, island, etc.) as per space planning norms.

· Ensure designs are aesthetic, ergonomic, and practical.

3. Modular Furniture & Material Knowledge

· Select appropriate modules, shutters, hardware, accessories, finishes, and appliances.

· Have strong knowledge of ply, MDF, HDHMR, laminates, acrylic, membrane, and hardware brands.

· Ensure designs comply with manufacturing feasibility and installation standards.

4. Site Coordination & Execution Support

· Conduct site visits for measurements, validations, and coordination.

· Coordinate with factory, production, and installation teams to ensure accurate execution of designs.

· Resolve site-level design issues and provide technical clarifications.

5. Costing & Budget Control





· Assist in preparing design-based BOQs and cost estimates.

· Ensure designs are within approved budgets without compromising quality or functionality.

· Suggest value-engineering options when required.

6. Quality & Timeline Management

· Monitor execution quality to ensure it matches approved designs.

· Ensure timely completion of design deliverables to meet project timelines.

· Support installation team during handover and snag resolution.

7. Coordination & Documentation

· Maintain proper design documentation, drawings, revisions, and approvals.

· Coordinate with sales, procurement, production, and project teams for smooth workflow.

· Update designs as per client change requests and maintain version control.

8. Customer Satisfaction & Handover

· Ensure final deliverables meet client expectations and design commitments.

· Support final inspection, snag closure, and project handover.

· Maintain professional communication to enhance customer experience and brand image.
