Experience: 10+ Years

Technical Skills

- Hands-on experience in programming on the AS400 using DB2 and embedded SQL, COBOL.
- Robust experience in DB2 SQL, Experiment table, and stored procedure creation using SQL.
- Excellent knowledge of AS400 CL programming. Experience with journaling and triggers.
- Must be able to create new COBOL programs as well as fix and modify older programs.
- Production support experience.
- Evaluates service level issues and suggests enhancements. Runs and monitors software performance tests in order to correct errors, target improvements, and debug.
- Prepares documentation of software requirements.
- Creates technical design recommendations for developing and integrating programs.

Essential Skills

- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Extensive experience in user support with strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong background in leading development teams and managing multiple projects, including onsite/client coordination.




- Ability to work independently.

Educational Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/BCA/MCA.

Job Responsibilities

- Lead and manage AS400 development, support, and enhancement projects.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Will be part of a modernization team to review COBOL code and write functional specs for modernization/migration initiatives.
- Prepare estimates, work effort plan, and risk mitigation process.
- Oversee code reviews, system testing, and performance optimization.
- Coordinate with onsite/offshore teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Show flexibility to respond to the changing needs of the business.
