The Opportunity

As part of a planned leadership transition, we're hiring a General Manager to lead our India Operations. This is a senior, high-visibility role reporting directly to the CEO, with a mandate to run a 100-person delivery organisation as a disciplined, scalable, client-trusted operation — not just keep the drawings moving.

You'll take a delivery function with strong technical roots and professionalise it: tighter intake discipline, predictable milestone delivery, clean capacity visibility, and a leadership bench that doesn't depend on any single person — including you.

What You'll Own

Delivery Quality & Client Trust

- Establish structured intake and batched-RFI processes across all active projects, reducing client-facing friction.

- Hold on-time submission rates against committed milestones at a high, consistent standard.

- Drive down rework and checker rejection rates through process, not heroics.

Capacity, Throughput & Predictability

- Build and maintain a live capacity model, shared with the US team on a structured weekly / monthly cadence.

- Ensure delivery commitments made to clients are ones the India team can reliably meet.

- Cross-train the team across Steel and Rebar workflows so capacity stays versatile rather than siloed.

People, Structure & Succession

- Build a defined competency ladder (detailer → modeler → checker → team lead) with visible progression.

- Reduce ramp time for new hires through structured onboarding and training.

- Build a leadership layer beneath you, and keep attrition among key staff within a healthy band.

Cost, Margin & Commercial Partnership

- Understand how India's cost structure maps to project profitability, and flag margin risk early when scope changes.

- Partner with the President and CEO on quarterly capacity-versus-margin decisions.

- Operate within delivery cost budget while protecting quality.

What You Bring

- 15–22+ years of total experience, including 5+ years leading a delivery or production operation of 100+ people.





- A background in steel detailing / structural detailing services is strongly preferred; leaders from engineering-services BPO, MEP/AEC delivery centres, or manufacturing production environments with a strong process record are also welcome to apply.

- Demonstrated experience serving US or international clients through an offshore delivery model.

- Strong grounding in structural steel detailing — shop/erection drawings, connections, AISC standards — ideally with hands-on detailing experience.

- Working familiarity with detailing software (Tekla / SDS2) sufficient to review model quality and guide standards.

- A track record of owning QA/checking regimes and building capacity models that hold up under real client pressure.

- Comfort with numbers — you run operations on metrics, not instinct, and can speak to cost-to-margin dynamics.

- Executive presence with US clients and peers, and willingness to travel periodically (valid B1/B2 visa preferred).

- An engineering degree or diploma (civil / structural / mechanical) is preferred; detailing certification is a plus.

- Based in or willing to relocate to Kochi.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 30 days, you'll complete a full handover, map the team and current commitments, and build relationships with the CEO and Other Stakeholders. By 90 days, intake and RFI protocols will be running across active projects and your first capacity model will be live. Within 6 months, you'll have established trending delivery metrics and demonstrated commercial literacy in a quarterly review. By the end of your first year, all of this will be running as a mature, documented operation — with a leadership bench in place and no single point of failure.
