Job Title: Houseparent – Girls Residence

Position Type: Full time (Residential)

Sancta Maria International School seeks a dedicated and responsible Houseparent – Girls Residence to oversee the pastoral care, safety, and holistic development of students residing in the girls boarding house. The Houseparent will create a warm, structured, and supportive residential environment that promotes confidence, independence, resilience, and personal growth while ensuring students physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful residential community that reflects the school's vision and values.
- Ensure the safety, security, discipline, and overall wellbeing of all boarders at all times.
- Monitor students daily routines, including study hours, meals, recreation, bedtime, attendance, and personal hygiene.
- Support students in developing independence, resilience, leadership, and essential life skills.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, counsellors, nurses, and school leadership to support students academic and personal growth.
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding students wellbeing, progress, and residential life.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, behavioural concerns, and welfare issues.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, medical updates, and boarding house operations.
- Plan and facilitate recreational, cultural, wellbeing,
and community-building activities for boarders.
- Ensure that the residence remains clean, organised, safe, and conducive to student wellbeing.
- Uphold the school's safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
- Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the Head of School or Boarding Leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with children or adolescents in a boarding school, residential setting, hostel, or similar environment.
- Experience in pastoral care within an international school will be an added advantage.
- First Aid, Child Protection, or Safeguarding certification preferred.
