Division: Clinical Informatics Services (CIS)

Reports to: Manager, Clinical Informatics Services

Your Mission

● Integrations Delivery: Under general guidance, analyze, design, program, unit test, and debug solutions to create bespoke and standardized integrations for clients

● Discrete Software Deliverables: Support ‘one-off’ software development tasks in Java to enable custom customer modifications to our software

● Data Engineering: Design and implement end-to-end data flows, from ingestion to consumption. Build and optimize batch and streaming pipelines using tools such as Airflow, Spark, and Kafka.

● Client Engagement: Provide status updates to internal clients and interface with external clients to clarify requirements, provide technology demonstrations, and conduct troubleshooting sessions.

● Quality & Process: Ensure tasks are completed on-time with high quality standards. Perform code reviews for peers and ensure relevant Medidata SOPs and WIs are followed.

Your Competencies

● Technical Proficiency:

○ Solid proficiency in Python, Java, and SQL programming languages.

○ Proven experience developing robust and scalable integrations between software systems

○ Experience with AWS cloud services (S3, Lambda, Glue, etc.).





○ Experience with software version control (Github) and CI/CD pipelines.

● Data Ecosystem: Familiarity with cloud based database services (e.g, Snowflake), data transformation (e.g., dbt), and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).

● Analysis & Design: Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements

● Communication: Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences and engage in conversations with clients, Project Managers, and Engineering teams.

● Knowledge of DevOps/Infrastructure Practice is highly desired:

● Proficiency in container orchestration and containerization using Amazon EKS and Docker.

● Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing Terraform.

● Familiarity with monitoring and logging using Prometheus and Grafana.

Your Education & Experience

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

● Minimum of 4-5 years of related experience with demonstrated progressive increases in responsibilities.

● Preferred experience within the Life Science Clinical Trial software technology (e.g., Rave EDC).
