Job Role: Third Party Inspection Engineer (Civil)

1. Role Overview
The Third Party Inspection Engineer (Civil) acts as the Company’s independent representative on construction projects — with a primary focus on government works — providing impartial verification across the full delivery cycle. The role covers scrutiny of approved drawings, verification of on-site construction against drawings and tender specifications, assurance of construction quality, structured report preparation, and certification of measurements and running bills. The engineer protects the interests of the appointing authority by ensuring that what is built, and what is paid for, conforms to the contract.

Base Location: Gokhale Business Bay, Near City Pride, Kothrud, Pune — with deployment to project sites as required

3. Role Context
This role establishes third-party inspection capability for government construction projects, deployable per assignment or empanelled contract. [Confirm: standalone third-party-services line vs. staffing of a specific awarded contract — this affects the deployment model and utilisation targets.] The engineer works alongside project leadership while reporting observations independently, to safeguard the interests of the appointing authority.

4. Key Responsibilities:

A. Drawing Review & Technical Scrutiny




• Review approved GFC structural and architectural drawings for completeness, internal consistency and conformity with tender requirements.
• Identify discrepancies, omissions or specification conflicts and raise them before they affect site execution.
• Maintain an up-to-date register of approved drawing revisions in use at site.
B. Site Inspection & Conformance Verification
• Conduct stage-wise inspections to verify that construction conforms to approved drawings and tender specifications / BOQ.
• Witness and transparent hold points and stage-passing checkpoints before work proceeds.
• Record deviations and ensure corrective action is taken and re-verified.
C. Quality Assurance & Code Compliance
• Verify materials and workmanship against applicable IS codes and the governing departmental specification (CPWD / state PWD / MORTH / IRC / NBC as applicable).
• Witness or review material and field tests — concrete cubes, reinforcement, compaction, NDT — and assess results against acceptance criteria.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and track them to closure.
D. Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare inspection reports, stage-passing checklists and NCRs with photographic and measurement evidence.
• Maintain a complete,



traceable audit trail suitable for review by the appointing authority and auditors.
• Submit periodic progress and quality reports within agreed turnaround times.
E. Measurement & Bill Certification
• Verify recorded quantities against actual work done using IS 1200 modes of measurement.
• Check and certify Running Account (RA) bills, ensuring quantities and rates align with the BOQ and measured work.
• Flag and resolve measurement discrepancies before certification.

5. Qualifications & Experience
• B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (essential).
• Master in Construction Management (NICMAR or equivalent) — preferred.
• 2 – 5 years in civil QA/QC, site execution, or third-party inspection; exposure to government projects preferred.
• Chartered Engineer (Institution of Engineers India) — advantageous; supports certification credibility on government empanelment.
• Working knowledge of relevant IS codes (IS 456, IS 800, IS 383, IS 1200) and the governing departmental specification (MORTH / IRC for infrastructure; CPWD / PWD / NBC for buildings).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (drawing reading) and MS Excel / Office (measurement sheets, reports)
