We are looking for a Part Time IT Infrastructure Technician who can visit our Chandigarh office every evening to maintain and monitor the company’s computer systems and IT infrastructure.
This role is ideal for an IT professional already working in a company during the day who is looking for a structured evening engagement.
The technician will be responsible for maintaining the health, security, and functionality of the office computer systems and keeping an organized inventory of all IT equipment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
System Maintenance
- Inspect approximately 5 computers per day and maintain a weekly cycle of 30 to 35 computers
- Ensure all computers are running smoothly and securely
- Install and monitor system updates and security patches
- Monitor system health and performance
Hardware Maintenance
- Periodically open and clean desktop computers to remove dust and prevent overheating
- Check internal components such as RAM, storage drives, cooling systems and power supplies
- Identify early signs of hardware failure
IT Infrastructure Inventory
- Maintain a detailed IT infrastructure register including:
- Desktop computers
- Monitors
- Network switches
- Routers
- Firewalls
- Storage devices
- Peripherals
- Track serial numbers, installation locations, and condition of equipment
Issue Management
- Employees will log computer issues using a QR based reporting system placed near their workstation
- Diagnose reported issues and resolve them where possible
- Escalate complex issues to the IT security team or Harvinder (IT supervisor)
Security and System Checks
- Ensure systems remain compliant with company IT security policies
- Monitor for unauthorized software installations
- Verify antivirus, firewall, and endpoint protection systems are functioning
Documentation
- Maintain daily maintenance logs
- Record repairs, updates, hardware changes, and issue resolutions
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in IT support or system maintenance
- Strong knowledge of desktop hardware and troubleshooting
- Good understanding of Windows operating systems
- Knowledge of computer hardware cleaning and servicing
- Familiarity with network basics, routers, switches and firewalls
Preferred:
- Experience with IT infrastructure management
- Experience working with endpoint security or firewall systems
