Position Overview

Role Description - Summary
This role is for Associate Engineer responsible for design, development and unit testing software applications. The candidate is expected play a techno functional role to work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure good quality, maintainable, scalable and high performing software applications are delivered to users in an Agile development environment. He / She should be coming from a strong technological background. Should be hands on and be able to work mostly independently requiring minimal technical/tool guidance.Work closely with team members and vendor team to design and develop software. Should have good communication skill and strong positive outlook.
Responsibilities / Tasks
Technical

- Designs and develops application code based on functional specification and given architectural design in the area of data collection, validation, enrichments and adjustments
- Proven experience of designing and supporting Oracle database (11g/12c/19c), RDBMS and detailed understanding of Data Warehousing Design Methodology, Data Warehouse Concepts, Database design/architecture, performance tuning etc with experience working with multi terabyte data warehouses.
- Experience of working in an Agile Development team practicing (SCRUM), KANBAN.. And familiarisation with Spotify or SAFe methodology
- Reads and understands functional spec (Features) and writes corresponding Stories (& TDD's)
- Maintains and enhances configurable components
- Designs and creates test cases for new functionality and for regression
- Performs defect fixing in all test cycles
- Ensures that the code passes daily build, deployment and smoke tests




- Promotes re-usability of existing components and contributes to the creation of frameworks, supports stability and performance improvements
- Supports appropriate technologies to be used
- Provides support with Level 3 operational support for incidents, problem/root cause analysis
- Reviews Code, TDDs and other development supporting documents

Management and Supervisory

- None

Experience / Exposure

- Should have 5-9 years of total relevant experience with Oracle based development, Data Warehousing platform or similar environments
- Good experience in Oracle SQL Complex queries, Joins, Analytical functions , Oracle PL/SQL Functions, Procedures, Triggers, Types, Packages, read/write .xml and .json files using SQL and PL/SQL
- Experience in design Create Tables, Views, Indexes and Sequences Performance Tuning including tuning/optimizing SQL, PL/SQL code
- Proven Development Experience in SQL and PL/SQL Programming in Oracle 11g/12c/19c in a Unix Environment Experience with Oracle Performance Tuning
- Should have good knowledge of Dev-Ops Deploy, GIT, Artifactory, Jenkins etc. Also have good knowledge of Oracle PLSQL, SQL and ETL.
- Oracle Exadata, Oracle Exadata CC, or RAC experience is a plus
- Analysis skills requirement refinement, data modelling, abstraction, excellent communication skills
- Good understating of principals to maintain legacy code, experience of supporting legacy code
- Ability to analyse data, identifying gaps, issues, patterns and trends
- Ability to analyze application dependencies and conduct impact assessment of changes
- Strong fundamentals in positive design principles/patterns
- Strong Debugging and troubleshooting skills on Data warehousing and data sourcing projects
- Very good team player
