- As a Product Owner Data Science, you are responsible for the quality and strategic impact of a digital data science product. Together with your agile team, you work on continuously improving and evolving the product in order to optimize the value for the consumer.
- Be accountable for the product success considering the value for the consumer and the company (ROI).




- Specify the product vision and roadmap as well as user stories considering the value for the consumer and the company as well as its role and impact on the adidas digital ecosystem.
- Be accountable for product delivery in line with the roadmap and committed delivery dates.
- Identify and solve dependencies with other product owners to ensure efficient delivery.
- Represent the business for the product, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that their views and requirements are captured in the product backlog.
- Prioritize the items in your product backlog. Specify the definition-of-done in cooperation with the product team.
- Own the refinement of your product backlog to ensure that the product team is delivering the right enhancements to drive consumer and business value.
- Provide acceptance for delivered backlog items by the team, in line with the definition-of-done.
- Be accountable for monitoring, optimization and enhancement of the configuration, features and functionalities related to the product.
- Use data sources and feedback loops to ensure the team focuses on the right enhancements.
- Work with the agile team to develop data hypotheses and methods, train and evaluate analytics models, share insights and findings and continue to iterate with additional data.
- Plan a range of mathematical, statistical, predictive modelling or machine-learning techniques in consultation with experts if appropriate, and with sensitivity to the limitations of the techniques.
- Actively contribute to our Communities of Practice and knowledge sharing events.



Who you are
- You hold a Master's degree in Business Administration/IT/Computer Science/Statistics/Econometrics, or related field with a business or quantitative focus (Mathematics/Physics), PhD welcome but not required.
- You have at least 5 years professional experience (inside or outside academia), ideally with a focus on online retailing or sporting goods industry, and 2+ years working as a Product Owner or product management related role, preferably in an Agile working setup.
- Advanced knowledge of Agile working methods e.g. Scrum/Kanban.
- You should have a good understanding of statistics/ statistical inference. Knowledge of linear algebra, optimization and time-series modeling would be a plus.
- You have basic knowledge in Machine Learning (in particular tree-based models, NLP, image processing), exploratory data analysis and feature engineering.
- Ideally, you have already experience in one of our focus areas (i.e., recommender and ranking systems, website personalization, search engine optimization, product ranging, sizing, tactical pricing, demand forecasting, image processing, social media listening, customer lifetime value).
- You interact confidently with data scientists, tech teams and stakeholders alike and can present your work to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in creating strong internal business cases to support investment and internal resource requests.
- Solutions-oriented approach and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Basic leadership skills are a plus.
- Comfortable working with enterprise-level platforms and technologies.
- You are familiar with basic software engineering principles.
