We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Engineer to support enterprise technology projects and drive automation of Oracle DBA operations using up-to-date DevOps and automation tools. The role involves managing complex database environments, working across multiple projects, and ensuring high availability, performance, and security of Oracle platforms.
This is a work-from-office role, and occasional out-of-hours or weekend support may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, support, and optimise Oracle database environments across projects
- Automate routine Oracle DBA activities using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and Groovy
- Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM environments
- Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning
- Support Oracle databases hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection standards
- Work in Agile delivery teams and support multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams
- Provide production support and troubleshooting under tight SLAs
Required Skills & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
Experience
- 6+ years of Oracle DBA experience in large enterprise environments
- Banking or financial services experience is preferred
Technical Skills (Essential)
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration
- Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard
- Expertise in RMAN, OEM, database patching, and migrations
- Solid skills in Performance Tuning
- Experience with OCI and AWS
- Good knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
- Strong Unix/Linux system knowledge
- Automation experience using Ansible and Git
- Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
- Familiarity with Agile delivery practices
