Job description

- Manage procurement of chemicals, reagents, solvents, and consumables for scale-up and kilo-lab projects.

- Identify and develop suppliers for specialised or hard-to-source chemicals.

- Align purchase requirements with technical specifications shared by scientists and project teams.

- Ensure all procured materials meet regulatory, safety, and documentation standards.

- Deliver fast and reliable sourcing to meet project-critical scale-up timelines.

- Negotiate cost, quality, and delivery terms with domestic and international vendors.

- Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement and costing records.

- Coordinate with supply chain, logistics, and stores for timely material receipt and QA release.

- Maintain project-wise inventory levels and prevent delays due to material shortages.

- Track and evaluate vendor performance for quality, compliance, and on-time delivery.

- Conduct market research and identify alternate suppliers for niche or rare chemicals.

Job requirements

- 4–8+ years of experience in procuring materials for scale-up projects within the pharmaceutical and chemical industry, with strong exposure to CRO/CDMO operations, process scale-up, API and intermediate sourcing, and global vendor management.





- Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end procurement of key raw materials, advanced intermediates, key starting materials (KSMs), specialisation in Scale up raw material

- Proficient in ERP systems and digital procurement workflows.

- Expertise in evaluating and onboarding CRO/CMO vendors, managing technical, commercial, and compliance aspects, ensuring alignment with regulatory, quality and project timelines.

- Strong background in process development & scale-up support

- Excellent Excel and documentation management abilities.

- Explicit, effective communication with scientists and cross-functional teams.

- Ability to work with urgency and meet tight project timelines.

- Skilled in preparing RFQs, comparative cost analysis, vendor audits, and managing long-term supply agreements and contract manufacturing arrangements.

- High attention to detail and compliance mindset.

- Organised, proactive, and capable of handling multiple requests.

- Quick problem-solving skills for sourcing challenges.

- Positive, collaborative attitude aligned with fast-paced CRO culture.
