Overview of Job:
The Project Manager -
Electrical will lead and manage the successful execution of electrical
engineering projects, from initiation to closeout. This role requires a strong
understanding of electrical engineering principles, project management
methodologies, and industry best practices. The Project Manager will be
responsible for planning, budgeting, scheduling, and overseeing the
implementation of electrical systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time,
within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
Key
Responsibilities:
I. Project Planning
& Development:
- Scope Definition: Collaborate with clients, engineers, and
stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Budgeting & Cost Estimation: Develop detailed project budgets and cost
estimates for the electrical scope of work.
- Scheduling: Create and manage project schedules,
including milestones, critical paths, and resource allocation.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks and
develop mitigation strategies.
- Procurement: Manage the procurement of electrical
equipment, materials, and services, ensuring compliance with project
specifications and budget constraints.
- Contract Management: Review and negotiate contracts with
vendors and subcontractors.
II. Project
Execution & Monitoring:
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of engineers,
technicians, and other project personnel.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and oversight
for the design, installation, and testing of electrical systems.
- Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control
procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry
standards.
- Safety Management: Ensure compliance with all safety
regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor project progress against the
schedule and budget, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Communication & Reporting: Maintain effective communication with
clients, stakeholders, and the project team. Provide regular progress
reports and updates.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical and
logistical challenges that may arise during the project.
III. Project
Closeout:
- Testing & Commissioning: Oversee the testing and commissioning of
electrical systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Documentation: Ensure complete and accurate project
documentation, including as -built drawings, test reports, and operation
manuals.
- Handover: Manage the handover of the completed
project to the client.
- Project Review: Conduct post -project reviews to identify
lessons learned and improve future projects.
Requirements
Required Skills
& Qualifications:
- Bachelors/master’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in
electrical project management, with a proven track record of successful
project delivery.
- Solid understanding of electrical
engineering principles, design standards, and codes.
- Proficiency in project management
methodologies and tools.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal,
and leadership skills.
- Strong problem -solving and analytical
abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best
practices in the electrical industry.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
and meet deadlines.
