We are building a data-intensive enterprise platform where near real-time ingestion (1-minute latency) is a core product requirement. As a Product Engineer focused on Kafka and streaming systems, you will own and scale the ingestion layer that powers critical production workflows.
This role demands strong hands-on expertise in Kafka, deep ownership of streaming pipelines, and the ability to build highly reliable, low-latency systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own Kafka-based streaming and ingestion pipelines
- Architect Kafka topics, partitions, schemas, and consumer groups for scale and reliability
- Ensure consistent sub-minute ingestion SLAs across production systems
- Handle message ordering, retries, back-pressure, and fault tolerance
- Monitor and optimize lag, throughput, and overall pipeline stability
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in high-throughput environments
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong,
hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in production environments
- Proven ownership of end-to-end streaming or ingestion systems
- Deep understanding of Kafka internals, including brokers, partitions, replication, and consumers
- Experience building high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems
- High ownership mindset with strong execution and problem-solving skills
Good to Have
- Backend development experience in Golang or Java
- Experience with schema management, monitoring, and performance tuning
- Exposure to data-heavy or enterprise-scale platforms
