About the Role
We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Senior PLC Programmer to join our engineering team. This position demands a hands-on professional with strong technical expertise in PLC & HMI programming, particularly with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Lenze platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep experience working across a variety of industrial automation projects, from programming and configuration to commissioning and post-deployment support.
The role requires comprehensive experience in servo programming, VFD commissioning, and complete life cycle handling of in-house automation development projects. You will also be responsible for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ensuring high-performance operation of automation systems at client sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems using:
- Siemens: TIA Portal, Starter, V-Assistant
- Allen-Bradley: Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, Connected Components Workbench (CCW)
- Mitsubishi: GX Works3, GT Designer
- Lenze: PLC Designer
- Servo drive programming for speed control, position control, and synchronization of servo axes across supported brands.
- VFD commissioning using both network-based and I/O-based control systems for Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, and Lenze equipment.
- Lead end-to-end project programming, from requirements gathering to design, programming, testing, documentation, and delivery.
- Coordinate and execute onsite installation and commissioning activities,
ensuring proper system integration and client satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot control system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement solutions quickly and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configuration, codebase, project workflows, and commissioning reports.
- Interface with cross-functional teams, including design, electrical, mechanical, and project management, to align on system requirements and project timelines.
- Train and support junior engineers or technicians involved in programming or field execution.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, specializing in PLC and HMI programming.
- Strong command over Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, and Lenze automation tools and environments.
- In-depth experience with servo programming, including motion control and axis synchronization.
- Proven experience in VFD setup, configuration, and commissioning in complex industrial environments.
- Ability to independently handle entire programming projects, including in-house development and site execution.
- Willingness to travel to client sites for installation, commissioning, and post-deployment support.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
- Experience in working with system integrators, OEMs, or within manufacturing environments.
