About the Role:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Orthopaedics Registrar to join our multidisciplinary medical team at a well-established Multi Speciality Hospital located in the heart of Bangalore. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside leading consultants and specialists in orthopaedic care, with a focus on orthopaedic oncology. As an Orthopaedics Registrar, you will play a key role in patient care, surgical assistance, and clinical research within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior orthopaedic surgeons during outpatient clinics, in-patient ward rounds, and surgical procedures.
- Conduct preliminary assessments, examinations, and histories of orthopaedic patients, especially those undergoing treatment for orthopaedic oncology conditions.
- Support the management of patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic orthopaedic procedures, including biopsies, reconstructions, and tumor resections.
- Monitor patient progress and provide post-operative care under the supervision of the consulting orthopaedic surgeon.
- Coordinate and follow up on diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and biopsy results.
- Liaise with other hospital departments to ensure comprehensive patient care and efficient case management.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions and case presentations involving orthopaedic oncology patients.
- Engage in ongoing education and research activities, including audits and case studies, to support clinical excellence.
- Assist in maintaining clinical protocols and ensuring adherence to hospital standards and medical ethics.
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
- Strong academic background with MS in Orthopaedics.
- 0.6 to 1 year of experience in orthopaedic practice, preferably with exposure to orthopaedic oncology.
- Basic surgical skills and understanding of orthopaedic procedures and post-operative care.
- Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills to interact with patients and their families.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, under pressure, and in a quick-paced hospital environment.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Willingness to participate in academic and research initiatives within the department.
