As an NPI Project Engineer – Electrical, you will be the point person for managing engineering and process changes related to electrical systems (wiring harnesses, controllers, sensors, connectors, charging systems) from design handover to production. You will coordinate between R&D;, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality to ensure smooth industrialization of electrical components.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive factory readiness for all electrical system changes (e.g., harness routing, connector changes, ECU upgrades).
- Review and validate electrical BOMs, drawings, and harness schematics for manufacturability.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure availability of updated components and documentation.
- Lead trial builds for electrical subsystems and provide feedback to design.
- Support development and implementation of electrical test jigs and EOL test processes.
- Own electrical change workflows (ECNs) and ensure traceability of updates in PLM/ERP.
- Troubleshoot electrical build issues during pilot builds and ramp-up.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics.
- Hands-on experience in launching recent products into mass production
- Hands-on experience with vehicle electrical systems, low voltage harnessing, or embedded electronics.
- Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and CAN/LIN-based systems.
- Experience working with PLM tools and change management processes.
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.
