Job Title: Manager – Purchase (EMS Industry)
Location: Mysuru
Department: Supply Chain / Procurement
Role Summary
We are seeking a hands -on and result -driven Purchase Manager with robust experience in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry. The role will be responsible for managing the end -to -end Procure -to -Pay (P2P) cycle, material planning, supplier management, and inventory control to ensure uninterrupted production and cost optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procure -to -Pay (P2P) Management
- Manage complete procurement lifecycle: PR â RFQ â PO â GRN â Invoice â Payment.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and audit requirements.
- Monitor and control procurement spend and payment cycles.
2. Material Planning & MRP
- Drive material planning based on MRP outputs and production schedules.
- Analyse and act on MRP exception messages (shortages, excess, reschedules).
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid line stoppages.
3. Purchase Planning & Governance
- Develop and govern purchase plans aligned with production and business forecasts.
- Track procurement KPIs like OTD (On -Time Delivery), lead time, and cost savings.
- Ensure adherence to approved BOM and procurement budgets.
4. Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and develop global and local suppliers.
- Manage supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Lead price negotiations, contracts,
and long -term agreements.
- Ensure strong vendor relationships and risk diversification.
5. Inventory Management
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance working capital and production needs.
- Monitor slow -moving, excess, and obsolete inventory.
- Improve inventory turns and reduce carrying costs.
6. Category Procurement (Hands -on)
- Manage procurement of:
- Electronic components (PCBs, semiconductors, passives)
- Cables and connectors
- Electrical & Electromechanical parts
- Mechanical components
- Handle both import and domestic sourcing, including logistics coordination.
7. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of 3–4 procurement associates.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and drive capability development.
- Ensure high team productivity and accountability.
8. Process Improvement & Automation
- Drive automation initiatives in procurement (ERP, P2P tools, dashboards).
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
- Implement best practices for procurement efficiency and transparency.
9. Risk Management
- Identify supply chain risks (single sourcing, long lead items, geopolitical risks).
- Develop mitigation strategies such as alternate sourcing, buffer stock, and supplier diversification.
- Ensure continuity of supply in volatile market conditions.
