The Manager – Design (Vessels) will be responsible for overseeing and executing the design of pressure vessels, atmospheric tanks, associated platforms, ladders, and ZLD-related equipment such as flash tanks, heat exchangers, and falling film evaporators (FFE). The role demands a solid technical foundation, leadership in cross-functional coordination, and a hands-on approach to engineering design and code compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze project specifications for pressure vessels, tanks, platforms, ladders, and ZLD equipment.
- Provide design schedule inputs and updates to the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
- Perform mechanical design calculations for vessels and tanks, including:
- Code-based strength calculations (ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & 2)
- Nozzle sizing and orientation
- Vessel functionality-specific calculations (e.g., resin expansion, internals)

- - Conduct structural evaluations for wind and seismic loads and allowable nozzle load limits.
- Carry out preliminary fatigue assessments based on project requirements and coordinate with external FEA consultants when needed.
- Review design outputs from draftsmen and designers to ensure alignment with project and code standards.




- Ensure platform and ladder designs comply with OSHA and other applicable safety standards.
- Review and validate material selection for vessels, tanks, and structural elements to ensure suitability and compatibility.
- Collaborate with piping and other engineering disciplines to finalize nozzle orientations and equipment layout.
- Address and resolve vendor technical queries by collaborating with internal engineering stakeholders.
- Attend customer and project meetings related to vessel, tank, and platform design as required.
- Prepare and upload material requisitions in the SAP system.
- Review vendor technical offers to ensure compliance with specifications and project needs.
- Develop equipment datasheets, technical specifications, and relevant documentation.
- Lead and mentor a team of design engineers and draftsmen.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Expertise in vessel and tank design, including structural and mechanical calculations.
- Strong working knowledge of international codes such as ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & 2.
- Familiarity with fatigue analysis, wind/seismic load analysis, and nozzle load evaluations.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and equipment specifications.
- Experience with SAP, engineering tools/software, and document control systems.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Team leadership experience with a focus on quality and on-time delivery.
