Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Procurement Engineer plays a critical role in the Supply Chain and Procurement department, specializing in the end -to -end acquisition of mechanical components essential for electronics manufacturing. This position focuses on sourcing high -quality cabinets, enclosures, sub -assemblies, sheet metal parts, plastic components, and fasteners used in power electronics and related systems. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strategic procurement acumen to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with quality standards. By collaborating closely with R&D;, design, and production teams, the engineer will drive supplier development, optimize costs through value engineering, and support new product introductions. This role is vital to maintaining operational excellence and scalability in a fast -paced electronics manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end -to -end procurement of mechanical components including metal cabinets, sheet metal enclosures, chassis, heat sinks, sub -assemblies, and fasteners for electronic products.
- Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on technical capability, quality compliance, pricing competitiveness, and delivery performance.
- Collaborate with R&D;, Design, and Production teams to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications for accurate sourcing.
- Conduct technical assessments and ensure component compliance with design and manufacturing requirements.
- Drive cost optimization through strategic negotiations, alternate sourcing, and value engineering initiatives.
- Manage supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews,
and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Perform periodic supplier audits and ensure adherence to ISO and internal quality procedures.
- Support new product introductions and prototype sourcing with timely and accurate procurement execution.
- Monitor evolving market trends in materials, fabrication technologies, and vendor capabilities.
- Maintain alignment with company procurement policies, ERP systems, and inventory management standards.
