- Perform comprehensive clinical evaluations and interpret laboratory findings related to hematologic disorders.
- Diagnose and manage conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, thrombocytopenia, coagulopathies, and hemoglobinopathies.
- Oversee and supervise blood bank operations, including donor screening, blood component preparation, and transfusion medicine protocols.
- Ensure compliance with national and international standards for blood transfusion safety and quality control.
- Provide expert consultation to clinical teams on complex hematologic cases and transfusion requirements.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including diagnostic reports, treatment plans, and follow -up documentation.
- Participate in hospital -wide quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines in hematology.
- Stay current with advancements in hematology and transfusion medicine through continuous professional development and research engagement.
- Mentor and train junior medical staff, residents,
and pathology technicians in hematologic diagnostics and transfusion practices.
Requirements:
- MBBS degree with a postgraduate qualification in Pathology (DCH, MD Pathology, or equivalent) with a Fellowship in Hematology or Transfusion Medicine.
- Minimum of 1 year of post -graduation clinical experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory setting.
- Proven expertise in diagnostic hematology, including peripheral blood smear analysis, bone marrow evaluation, and coagulation testing.
- In -depth knowledge of blood group systems, crossmatching, and transfusion reactions management.
- Solid understanding of laboratory safety protocols, regulatory compliance (NABL, ISO, etc.), and quality assurance in transfusion services.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team -oriented clinical environment.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Valid registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or equivalent regulatory body.
- Willingness to participate in on -call duties and emergency transfusion support as required.
