We are looking for a Head of Engineering to own end-to-end technology execution across IoT, cloud, data, ML systems, and applications, and build an engineering organization that ships reliably in real-world environments. You will lead the engineering of a mission-critical platform for water and wastewater operations, ensuring reliable, automated operations across industrial and commercial sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on architectural ownership of critical systems and technical decisions.
- Technical execution and platform architecture across IoT, cloud, data platforms, ML systems, and applications.
- Design resilient, edge-aware systems that operate under imperfect network and field conditions.
- Define engineering standards for reliability, security, scalability, and testability.
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Operations to translate domain knowledge into software systems.
- Build robust device-to-cloud and edge-enabled systems for industrial deployments.
- Develop scalable backend services and operator-facing applications that turn data into actionable outcomes.
- Create data and ML pipelines for monitoring, diagnostics, and optimization.
- Implement automated testing frameworks across devices, data, and applications.
- Foster a culture of ownership, operational excellence, and clear decision-making.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years building and scaling complex systems (IoT, distributed systems, industrial software, or large-scale data platforms).
- Strong cloud architecture experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Working understanding of IoT,
edge computing, and automated equipment control systems.
- Experience deploying ML systems in production that drive operational or business outcomes.
- Proven leadership of engineering teams in startups or rapid-growing companies.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience designing reliable systems under real-world constraints (imperfect data, unreliable connectivity, operational variability).
- Demonstrated ability to translate domain knowledge into operational software.
- Comfort using AI tools to accelerate development, testing, and internal workflows.
