As a DevOps Engineer (Delivery Services), you will partner with a team of senior

engineers in the design of automated deployment and maintenance of

our endpoint solutions, for new and existing PDI solutions. You will work with

engineering teams, supporting them on internal pipelines to work with POCs. You

may be responsible for alpha, betas and release candidate environments, as well as

supporting the pipeline into our production stage and release environments

managed, as a collaborative, by the DevOps, CloudOps and Delivery Services

team.

You will play a key role in designing & building endpoint automations pipeline as we

drive to continuously increase our automated deployment maturity. You will be

supporting automated deployment mechanisms, writing code, source control

integration and lab/UAT environment management. You will review, recommend &

implement system enhancements in the form of new processes or tools that improve

the effectiveness of our SDLC while ensuring secure development practices are

followed and measured. You will be part of a team maintaining order in the DevOps

environment by ensuring all stakeholders (testers, developers, architects, product

owners, SREs, IT Ops…) maintain operating procedures and best practices.

With the variety of environments, platforms, technologies & languages, you must be





comfortable working in both Windows & Linux environments, mainly utilising

PowerShell scripting, database administration as well as bare metal

virtualization technologies and public cloud environments (Azure, GCP, AWS).

Key Responsibilities

- Bring DevOps technical expertise to Delivery Services building & supporting/maintaining automated releases for multiple endpoints, using multiple solutions.
- Working with support and development to understand the top tickets raised and work to automate solutions to reduce ticket count and deploy software automatically, both updates and new software.
- As an operations member of an agile team, help produce sprint deliverables and actively participate in all Scrum ceremonies
- Be a lead in the implementation of full dev-to-deploy to endpoints
- Understand the CAB and Gate process for presenting and deploying both configuration and software solutions to our endpoint customers.
- Serve as an administrator for DevOps tools such as RMM tools (Datto, Kaseya), Confluence and ADO, providing user support as needed and working to reduce future support tasks via improved automation, problem identification and training
- Continuously increase knowledge of our systems and solution stacks through active study, research & experimentation, and contribute to team knowledgebase through discussion and documentation.

Qualifications

- 8 years in DevOps engineering or related software engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced experience of PowerShell and .NET Programming
- Ability to take ‘day to day’ problems and invent technical automated solutions that supports problem / incident management.
- Ability to take deployment packages and design & implement automated deployment solutions.
- Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to help others and take action
- Requires strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms and vice versa.

- Expertise with end point deployment such as using RMM tools, Ninja, Datto, Kaseya, MDM, Terminal Management Systems or PS Remote
- Experience with Remote Management software such as Bomgar, Beyond Trust, TeamViewer, Splashtop, Screen Connect
- Experience with system monitoring such as Grafana, Dynatrace
- Highly experienced in Windows and Linux systems, CLI and scripting
- Familiar with build automation in Windows and Linux and familiar with the various build tools (MSBuild, Make, Inno Setup, Chocolatey), package managers (NuGet, NPM, Maven) and artefact repositories (Artifactory, Nexus)
- Programming experience with one or more of C#, Go, Python, C++, Ruby
- Expertise with CI tools integration and management: TFS, Git/ADO, Jenkins , SonarQube
- Expertise with DevOPS tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef.
- Knowledge of SDLC with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, secure development, peer programming
- Working experience with one or more flavours of SQL RDBMS administration and scripting DDL and DML
