About Ground Zero

Ground Zero is a next-generation talent and advisory firm dedicated to powering the social impact ecosystem. Since 2023, we've grown from a pilot into a movement- supporting 100,000+ active job seekers and helping 1,000+ nonprofits find talent across all thematic areas.

We're not a typical recruitment firm. We're a living community on WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook. Through weekly AMAs, webinars, and bi-monthly podcasts, we intend to create spaces where job seekers find opportunities, guidance, and connections.

We're a remote-first team of 10 entering our third year. Now we need someone special to join us to drive community engagement.

What Are We Looking For?

A Community & Experience Associate who's equal parts connector, host, problem-solver, and storyteller.

You light up managing multiple groups/spaces simultaneously. You thrive in conversations. You can host a webinar, edit a podcast, and still engage with community members- all in one day.

You understand the social sector- not just professionally, but as a calling.

What Will You Be Doing Day-to-Day?

Community Management (50%)

- Own community spaces across WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook

- Engage with job seekers daily- answering questions, sharing opportunities, creating connections

- Guide candidates through the ecosystem via one-on-one conversations

- Build relationships with nonprofits and facilitate introductions

- Curate learning resources and job postings

Events & Content (15%)

- Host 1-AMA per week with GZ team for job-seekers

- Facilitate 1-webinar per week with social sector leaders

- host 1 podcast every 15 days for #KnowTheSocialSector (guest coordination to editing)

- Edit video/audio content for distribution

Social Media (20%)

- Manage WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook presence

- Design graphics using Canva and other softwares

- Share success stories and community highlights

- Drive engagement with creative campaigns

- Track metrics and optimize content

The Rest (15%)

- Whatever needs doing! Use Monday.com to stay organized

- Collaborate on new initiatives

- Respond to emerging community needs

Challenges or Exciting Things You'll Encounter

The Juggling Act: Hosting an AMA while managing WhatsApp groups, editing podcasts, and preparing social content- all at once.

Emotional Labor: Supporting frustrated, anxious job seekers while maintaining your own energy requires deep empathy and boundaries.

Always Visible: You'll be on camera regularly. If that's uncomfortable, this will be a struggle.

The Volume: 100,000 job seekers. 1,000+ nonprofits. Multiple platforms. Dozens of daily interactions.

Ambiguity: We're growing and trying to have processes but Processes aren't perfect, priorities shift, and you'll figure things out as you go.

If you need crystal-transparent structure or struggle with multitasking, this isn't the role.

- Build relationships with nonprofit partners

- Bring fresh ideas to life

First Big Win:

- A job seeker messages you: they found their dream job through Ground Zero, and your guidance made the difference

A Final Note:

This role is intense, rewarding, messy, and meaningful. You'll connect deeply with strangers, celebrate their wins, and hold space for their struggles.

If you need predictable 9-to-5 tasks and rigid boundaries, this isn't it.

But if you want work that matters- where every conversation could change someone's career trajectory- we'd love to meet you.

Let's build a community where no job seeker feels alone.
