We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Civil Engineer specializing in commercial property development to join our team. The role involves planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of site layouts, utilities, drainage systems, and infrastructure within commercial developments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land development projects, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with architects, planners, and developers to deliver protected, efficient, and sustainable designs.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Planning & Design

- Collaborate with architects, land planners, and developers to create efficient and compliant site layouts.

- Develop detailed designs for:

- Site layouts and roadway design

- Grading and drainage systems, including stormwater management facilities

- Utility infrastructure (water, sewer, electrical, etc.)

- Structural components of commercial buildings

- Prepare blueprints, plans, specifications, and technical documentation.

2. Permitting & Regulatory Compliance

- Manage the permitting process, including preparing and submitting technical plans and calculations to secure approvals.

- Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with zoning laws, building codes, safety regulations,



and environmental standards.

- Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory bodies as required.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Licensure

- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred (especially in Louisiana and Florida) but not mandatory.

Experience

- 5–7 years of relevant experience in land development and civil design.

- Strong background in commercial property site design projects.

Technical Skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, and other civil design software.

- Expertise in site layout, grading, drainage, utility design, and stormwater management.

- Knowledge of erosion and sediment control practices.

- Familiarity with building codes, zoning laws, and safety standards.

Soft Skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with multi-disciplinary teams.

- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
