Job Description

As a key role in Program Management, reporting to Senior Program Manager - Digital & Architecture, the Project Manager of Software Development is accountable for leading the cross-functional project core team to establish an integrated plan for resources and materials to deliver the new product program per the Product Program team commitment. In addition, the Project Manager will participate in defining and executing the strategy for the product development team by driving initiatives that deliver on the division strategy. This role is based in Bangalore, India.

Duties & Responsibilities

What you'll do:

- The purpose of this role is to develop, sustain and enhance our digital software and solutions
- Work with the system, subsystem/platform, supply chain, service, Quality Assurance (QA), Regulatory Affairs (RA), manufacturing engineering, Research project leaders to deliver quality products on time, within budget and with the necessary features/functionality
- Set-up and execute engineering processes in line with Smiths Detections global engineering development methodologies and ensure that team follows through the processes
- Work on and with Digital Platform and Applications team for product features and releases
- Ensure effective, efficient communication and execution for the duration of the cross-functional program team
- Coordinate with other technical teams including the Smiths Detection UK, Europe, US teams to ensure compatibility with other components and deliver as an integrated solution
- Work to execute projects, ensuring that teams have the appropriate product and technical specifications, direction,



and resources to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines to ensure projects meet deadlines
- Collaborate with Product Management in defining SW Product Strategies and roadmaps that meet the future needs of our customers and markets based on state-of-the-art technologies. Coordinate the allocation of software team resources in conjunction with the integrated product and project teams using Smiths processes. Monitor staff usage of WBS codes for time charging.
- Ensures that the product development process abides by all defined cross-functional standards, meets the intent and letter of Gated Reviews and all compliance such as Quality Management System (QMS)
and regulatory needs of the applicable markets
- Identifies early and solves complex and ambiguous cross-functional integration problems leading the team to deliver per Program team commitments. Including (but not limited to) completing functional goals, execution adjustments/iterations, process confusion, and cross functional teamwork.
- Work with the functional engineering leadership team to grow project leadership skills within the Core Team

The Individual

What you'll definitely need:

- Must possess at least a bachelor's degree in electrical/ Electronic or Computer Engineering/Science or equivalent. Master's degree is preferred.
- Strong software engineering skills (6+ years) in development and additional project management experience of 5+ years in product-based company
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies is essential.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and presentation skills.




- The motivation & ability to persistently pursue and achieve effective results which drive the business forward
- Strong experience working with remote teams on collaborating towards a common goal
- Ability to work with multiple teams and projects at any given time.
- The ability to make effective, timely decisions in a complex, global market by sourcing and analyzing critical information
- The understanding and recognition of the organizations commercial environment and positioning themselves, their role and their actions in order to support the organizations commercial success
- The ability to engage, challenge and work effectively with others
- The ability to build an effective network of relationships both internally and externally, understanding their customers' needs
- Willing and able to identify/support change and continuous improvement in own and wider business environment
