What's the role
As a Data Engineer in Shell, you will create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture and also will assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
You will also identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
More specifically, your role will include:

Build the infrastructure required for optimal ETL/ELT of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Azure, AWS 'big data' technologies.

Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition,



operational efficiency and other KPI metrics.

Keep our data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centres and Azure regions.

Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.

Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

What we need from you

-
Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science or any related course
-
Withat least 4 years of experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.

Candidate must be well versed with ADF, ADLS, Azure Databricks, PySpark, SQL
-
Should have experience in programming languages - Python, R, SQL, Java
-
Should be able to design and implement highly performant data ingestion through Azure Databricks
-
Automation Skills - should own the skill of automating the integration of code changes & deployment of applications through CI/CD pipeline, azure devops github actions are preferable
-
Containerization Skills - Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc
