The Cloud Engineering Unit within the Technology Group is accountable for building the technology backbone for Maersk. Our goal is to deliver a scalable, reliable and secure infrastructure for Platforms and enable with seamless development experience.
Introduction to the Role
The Cloud Engineering Group is looking for Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented Performance Engineers working with diverse teams/members from Engineering, Product Development and other Platform teams to refine and implement current and existing end to end performance engineering solutions across all company products. You will partner in strategic initiatives within Cloud Engineering and Global Platform teams in developing solutions and tools that make our engineers more productive and our products more performant and reliable by applying techniques and best practices in all stages of the software development life cycle and ensure that the final product is optimized appropriately.



The ideal candidate for this role has a strong data-driven approach, brings in product mindset and builds seamless collaboration between teams, tools, and processes through continuous feedback loops.
The Performance Engineering Manager, will be
Playing a pivotal role in connecting Technology, Products, Process and End Users, your Key Responsibilities will include -

- Be responsible for the group's technical strategy and roadmap - creating success metrics in close collaboration with other groups across the organisation in executing initiatives in agile way
- Champion and drive adoption of performance engineering principles and various tangibles such as capacity, cost, availability, reliability, security of building and running services that will be consumed by Enterprise grade customers across the globe
- Partner to architect to build scalable performance engineering platform that caters to various testing and engineering solutions such as load, endurance, stress etc. in essence motivates engineers to develop simple solutions to complex problems.
- Implement and drive chaos engineering principles, there by productising for enterprise consumption
- Design, build and continuously improve end-to-end system optimization through a continuous testing and monitoring process by adopting a product approach




- Influence product teams to shift shifts-left performance and load testing into the development process through innovative solutions and approaches
- Enable Platform teams to have a holistic view of capacity utilisation, performance data at every step SDLC
- Lead, hire and grow a high calibre team of performance engineers, working along with Site Reliability Engineers and various Product teams

- Experienced in Planning, defining, executing, and analysing performance analysis & engineering in a full stack, microservices or monolithic architecture in multiple clouds and Data center hosted services
- Strategize and Productise test solutions through business, functional and technical expertise
- Excellent coding skills in one of the languages modern web languages including the ever jewel language Java
- Very good understanding of Web Technologies, as-a-service architectures, DevOps & System design
